Up Next: Detroit Memorial Regatta

Make sure and attend on Saturday, June 5 as we remember three former radio control racers who made significant contributions to our hobby and have not yet been recognized with memorial races.

As an added bonus, Newton will award a full set of the Detroit Memorial Regatta commemorative buttons, created especially for this race, to the first five owners who pre-register and pre-pay for the event, so go pre-register and pre-pay now.

This race is created in the style of the Detroit Memorial from back in the day, to honor those RC racers who are no longer with us. Each year we will plan to honor different members.

Larry and Denise Goldman will be in person to BBQ up a hot dog lunch for all participants. If you wish to bring any side dishes, please connect with David Newton ([email protected]). It will be BYOB (non-alcoholic beverages, of course).

Raffle prizes will be given away throughout the day. So far, there are gift certificates donated from Offshore Electric and Progressive RC. There will also be other items – including three 2022 memberships with one boat registration from ERCU ($30 each value) – you will want to win for your boats, or for fun. Raffle tickets will be given away to each participant, as well as extras given out for those who can answer some trivia questions. Be ready!

We will also be taking a group photo after the drivers meeting. The drivers meeting will be extended and conducted by Brad Lewis. Bring a comfy chair and let’s share some fun stories about our fallen ERCU members! After the meeting, we’ll gather on the grass with our boats to take the group photo.
